Silk Tie Conversion

Last week, Rick stopped by Hodge Podge, a local thrift store, and bought a lovely silk tie for $1.50. Today, he spent a few hours at my cutting table, ripping the seams, measuring, cutting, applying a stabilizer, and doing the finishing, resulting in two absolutely fabulous hat bands for his two Stetsons, the white Royal, and the brown Lincoln Road. They are to be feathered, as while we have the feathers, we don’t have floral tape. Next week!

  1. I think it looks perfect on both hats. I was rather gobsmacked at just how well it suited both. That’s down to Rick, he bought the tie, and made the bands, I had nothing to do with it, other than make “oh, perfect!” noises. :D
