Young. Beautiful. Mean.

And fearless. Her colours were gorgeous, her feathers looked silky and woven. Unlike most doves around here, this one was not in the least bit spooky. She lunged at the other birds in the tray, with an air of complete authority, which she also extended to me. She could barely be arsed to even notice me, or the shutter click, which most doves are highly responsive to, and show it. She was hungry, so she ate, allowed me to shoot, an after shooting me quite the look, flew off. I think I had an encounter with royalty of some sort. ;) All images 1300 x 865, click for larger.

  1. Less like woven, than painted, to my eyes. I feel that I can see the tiny, individual paint strokes.
