Friday Feathers #2

A baby Sparrow* has a sleepy moment in the sun.  Awwwwww. 1100 x 731, click for larger size.  *Probably a House Sparrow (Passer domesticus), but could be a Lincoln’s Sparrow (Melospiza lincolnii).

  1. Those are the best moments! :D

This reminds of the baby Black Redstart I photographed some months ago. Allowed me to get really close, stood around for a while and was SO cute. I do think those are my best bird photos to date. Certainly the ones I’m most proud of!

  2. Ohhhhhhhhh, Redstarts are so cute. You have to love the baby birds, they are so trusting – I’ve been amazed at close you can get when it’s a babe.

  3. Yes they are. And I just realized I forgot to give you a link. There’s five shots of that baby there. :D

(I’m mostly on Flickr these days, especially for the bird photos. Not that I particularly like Flickr itself, but I’ve made some friends among Portuguese birdwatchers and photographers, and that’s the best way to keep up with them.)

  4. Oh, what an adorable baby! Yeah, I’m not crazy about Flickr, but I have a stitchery photostream there. It’s always good to have connections with other birders, at least some people understand why you go so nuts over birds. :D
