The Full Quilt

I told Rick some time ago that I’d make him a quilt – a proper one, the kind that actually keeps a person warm. Seeing as his birthday is coming up, I figured I could at least get a start on it. Rick did the cutting and I did all the margin marking, finishing up all the bricks today. We’ll get a quilt wall next week, so we can lay it out prior to sewing.

  1. I really like the lizards, and the red and yellow really sets off both the lizards and the peppers. I can’t wait to see the final product. No pressure. Just saying. :D

  2. Uh huh. :D Well, once we get the quilt wall, we’ll be able to lay it all out, so we can see what it will look like when it’s finished. I really like the lizards, too.

  3. I look forward to seeing the finished product.
The first quilt I ever made (~30 years ago) was of Escher’s lizards.
    1152 pieces.
I hated it so much when I was done, I gave it to my brother.
    He still has it.

  4. 1152 pieces? Oy! You obviously made a good quilt, though, if it’s still being used. This is my first quilt, so it’s going to be about as basic as it gets. Cut down the front pieces from 445 to 265 by deciding to go with actual brick size, rather than quilt brick size.

  5. Ah—like the felt-boards they used to use in Sunday Bible School to bore us with, only bigger! And used for a Higher Purpose! :)

(Granted, that is a mighty low bar….)
